Crisp, cool air. Damp grass. Birds chirping. Sun rising. Blood pumping. Gravel crunching. Limbs loosening.
That’s how my day started yesterday and today, and I do believe I’ll make it a habit.

As much as I am not a fan of crawling out of my bed any earlier than necessary, I am a fan of productivity. Of feeling healthy… body, mind, and soul. Of starting my day off right.
A brisk 20-30 minute walk gives me time to count my blessings, plan my day, and nourish my baby with lots healthy blood-flow. I’d say that’s some pretty good early morning multi-tasking!
If you’ve never hit the pavement early in the morning, you should try it. It’s a Finer Thing, indeed!

Sounds like a grand way to spend a morning!
I know, I know, I know, I should be doing this before the baby comes, so I can have my strength, blah, blah, blah. But really I just want to sleep in while I can. I am going to add this to the ever growing list of things AFTER THE BABY
Don’t be mad when I get all “bossy big sister” in a week or so about taking good care of yourself while pregnant.
I really need to get back to walking

Awesome sunrise picture!
A good walk always lifts the spirits!
Thanks for hosting, and nice to meet you. :~D

You are so right.
I’m going to have to figure out how to redo my schedule to make this work. Right now early morning is for blogging. Perhaps we need two early mornings per day!

I just started walking with my husband as my children are old enough to be home alone for a little while. That 30 minutes is some of the best time we spend together. Lots of conversation and no interruptions!
Absolutely stunning sunrise! WOW!
Amy,
Just want to say how much I enjoy your Finer Things Friday. It’s different than the other memes

Thanks for the encouragement!
This is so true! I also took a walk yesterday, though in the afternoon with the whole family. Before I had kids, I used to do a jog/ walk in the mornings. Thanks for a push to get back to that- maybe I’ll go try it now (though I’ve been up already for over an hour!)
I’m doing the same thing, grudgingly putting on my shoes, walking up the road with the birds singing and cows chewing….it’s wonderful when I get out there, but I just hate the fact that I need to exercise at my age. The weight justs jumps onto my body if I don’t. I’ve got a quick 20 minutes to get it done, then the morning begins with a fury!
Nice to know I’m in good company!
A morning walk can set the tone for the rest of your day! LOVE the multitasking.
That is a beautiful way to start your day:-)
Oh, I love a brisk, early-morning walk! I’d love to walk alongside you.
Of course, that might not help with the whole “planning your day” part of multi-tasking…
I’d give up my multi-tasking to have you walk with me!
Loving this idea!!!
I LOVE early morning walks. I wake up every day at 4:35am, and I hit the road for my morning exercise walk by 5am. It’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors.
I started running (don’t be impressed; I’m really slow) in the morning at about 5, and I do it 3 days a week. I love it – and now it’s getting warmer and the sun is starting to come out when I am getting home. It’s SO peaceful. Except for the sprinklers, but otherwise, it’s a beautiful start to the day.
Running… even slow running… I’m still impressed.
The only thing I could love more than a sunset is a sunrise. Although I rarely see them, I hear it happens pretty early in the morning. For now I will live vicariously through your pictures.
I should really get back into that early morning walk habit! Thanks for the inspiration. It’s definitely a finer thing.
Blessings,
Michele
I get up every morning early to start my day. I get up at 5 to exericse…either a 3 mile walk/jog outside or a dvd at home! It is a great way to get started and feel good the rest of the day! I am also able to get a few things done before the family wakes up!
Amazing the productivity before the family wakes!
