Finer Things Friday: Counting Blessings

Still recording blessings this week (always counting, but need to record them to memory).  We just returned from a long, full, fun day.  A portrait session with cousins, followed by eating out, followed by a few hours at the zoo on an 80° afternoon, followed by eating out again (yes, twice in one day!), and ending with grocery shopping.  Truly, you would have thought we’d taken the kids to Disney World or something, they were that excited!  (It’s the little things, people!)

My little buddy, enjoying the zoo…

12. A 5 year old who delights in making breakfast (“flat” eggs) for the whole family, all by herself.

13. Sitting all by himself.  (But oh, my baby’s growing up!)

14. Old-fashioned bartering, resulting in a brand new crack-free sidewalk.

15. The gathering of family and friends to remember a beautiful life.

16. Giggles over facebook.

17. Sleeping in during spring break.

18. The donning of overalls to “help daddy work.”

19. Dark chocolate and peanut butter.  Together.

20. Daughter “begging” in the grocery checkout… to put money in the “Japan Tsunami Relief” box.  (I obliged.)

21. Open windows and spring breezes.

22. New family portraits for the walls.

23. A lovely community of readers to help me make this a Finer place for all.  (If you haven’t yet, would you spend a moment filling out my survey?)

What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know!

  1. I exited to be linking up this week. Thanks for hosting! Happy Weekend, and many blessings to you! 😉

  2. Thanks again for hosting!
I have posted my family’s favorite popcorn seasoning recipe that will also link you some other great popcorn recipes on my site as well. We have taken this popcorn to numerous outings and it has always gotten rave reviews. It tastes so great that people always say “What is on this popcorn?” and it is always gone by the time we go home.

  3. Love your recorded blessings!

  4. What a great idea to record all your blessings! 🙂

  5. Amen to some dark chocolate and peanut butter!!

  6. Counting your blessings is a great way to focus on the good in our lives… I like your list.

  7. I am jealous of open windows and short sleeved shirts! 🙂 Oh, and also baby arm rolls. (Can I please come over and smooch on that baby???) Love this list.

  8. We’re celebrating my husband’s 28th birthday with our friends tomorrow night!
And I’m privately and publicly celebrating my beloved Spiders’ win yesterday. 😀

  9. Beautiful blessings:-)

  10. Whew! My computer is functional again after something happened to it last night! I shared my recipe for Toasted Coconut Chocolate Chunk cookies. They are gluten free, but can be made with “regular” flour if you don’t have issues with gluten. They are seriously yummy!
    Thanks for hosting!

  11. What a great list- you’re so right, it is the little things- especially DARK chocolate and peanut butter together 🙂 – that make life so sweet.

I love how this linky helps me to remember this- thanks!

  12. Love sweet baby pictures!

  13. I linked up a dish I learned how to make for no other reason than to make my hubby happy. After almost 17 years of marriage he is still my sweetie and my best friend … and that’s pretty darn fine.
