Finer Things Friday: An Awesome Day

finer things friday Finer Things Friday: An Awesome Day

This is the face of a first grader who

  • gave in to the sandman at 10:45 the night before school started
  • came barreling out of her room at 6:45 the next morning (fully dressed and with her bed made!), announcing “The 1st Grader’s awake!”
  • had an “Everything was awesome!” first day of school.

And this {sigh} is the swelled heart of a mama who is grateful that going to school is a Finer Thing and not a traumatic event for her precious daughter.

What Finer Things are you celebrating this week?  Link up and let us know!  I’ve been pretty forgiving, but this week I’m deleting links that don’t follow the (easy, peasy!) rules.

I know I don’t have to say this… but she is so beautiful. What a blessing for YOU and her daddy, as well…that she did have a good first day. Woohoo!

Oh, your post makes me miss teaching so much! I used to absolutely love the first day of school with my first graders. I think they almost all walked through my door with grins as wide as the ocean! They were just so proud to be big first graders!

I’m so glad she had a great day!!! That’s just exactly as it should be. Sigh.

Wow!
I love the good! I enjoy the love! The picture made me smile! I know she is going to soar this year!
My little Joy that God has blessed me with is two years old. She has made me seize the day and cheerish the moments together.
I am working on a book about the challenges I have faced this year. I am on the second chapter. You have to start somewhere.
Peace through love!

I saw her adorable face and, honestly, thought of your Twitter pic! She looks so much like you.

Joe and I can’t have kids (at least not today) so I’m celebrating vicariously through you. It’s wonderful to see so much love and joy in your family.

I am celebrating a simple side dish that makes my life so much easier on busy nights & is dirt cheap – oven baked brown rice. No more boiling over on the stove top & the texture is perfect every time. Gotta love it!

Her little bobbed haircut is absolutely adorable.

I’m so glad that her first day was “awesome” and I hope that the rest of her year is equally exciting. :)
