Filthy Tub {Finer Things Friday}

After bathing children one day last week, this was all that was left, and I had to have a picture.

“Can’t wait to read that blog post,” my husband joked, knowing I would never take a photo of the dirty tub for any other reason.ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰

And he’s right.ย  But a filthy bathtub cannot go unnoticed when one focuses on the Finer Things in Life.ย

A filthy bathtub means busy, healthy children.

A filthy bathtub means beautiful weather.

A filthy bathtub means hours outside soaking up natural vitamin D.

A filthy bathtub means much needed rain to create the tempting mud.

A filthy bathtub serves as a reminder of endless free fun.

A filthy bathtub can be easily cleaned.ย  Let’s get dirty!

What Finer Things are you celebrating this week?ย  Link up and let us know! ย

  1. I shared an easy peach clafoutis….it’s a wonderful french dessert that isn’t overly sweet. It’s perfect for this time of year. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thanks for hosting! Sharing my latest recipe post – Homemade Jello! And the beginning of my search for the best essential oils. Afraid I may never sort through all the info….but it’s an interesting hunt!

  3. LOVE THIS!!! You always have the best perspective on life!!! You are inspiring!!!

  4. It also means at least half an hour of splashing fun (during which, at least at my house, everybody gets along). And good-smelling children afterwards. Good times!

  5. I laughed when I saw the title and picture. I just cleaned my tub this week after way too long. It was really bad! Of course, after I clean it, ds3 is in there making a new dirt ring with the dirt in his hair from our dirt pile.

  6. Thanks for the reminder because sometimes it’s too easy to forget and see it as just another cleaning project!!

  7. I grew up in Hawaii and I think our bathtub had a permanent layer of sand, you know how much comes out of a bathing suit!

Your perspective is soooo refreshing, your thankfulness and gratitude make your blog one of my absolute favorites.

May God abundantly bless you as you encourage all of us in this adventure!

  8. I feel the exact same way about bruised knees and dirty feet! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Debbie Jennings says:

What a wonderful way of looking at a dirty tub! We do’t have little children, but do have one dirty Chihuahua that leaves a ton of hair in the tub. =) I will most definitely look at her leavings like you do. She is our baby girl, even if she is almost 10. We’d be lost without her.

  10. At least you bathed your children! When we’re busy, we skip baths. My girls are on Spring Break next week so I’m sure we’ll be skipping a lot of baths next week. I’d hate to see our tub then! Ewwwwww lol

Thanks for hosting! I hope you are feeling well these days. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. We are finally getting warmer weather here!!! Now I will be thankful for dirty tubs too :).

  12. Uh, if thats as dirty as your tub gets…”aunt Polly” really needs to come see those kidos!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. That is so true!! We have been enjoying the beautiful weather here too, which leads to the same filthy tub at our house as well! I love it!

  14. You’ve got nothin’ on our tub. We’re at the tail end of a (cheap) bathroom touch up involving caulk, drywall dust, and paint. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend I’ll be celebrating a clean, spruced up bathroom with a bubble bath!

    • What a mess! Are you all cleaned up yet?

      • Clean doesn’t begin to describe it. I’m 30 weeks pregnant and found myself in an unfortunate nesting instinct incident in the bathroom. I’m considering serving dinner there. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. My kids are always saying every time I take a picture now “mom is that for the blog” or they do something they think is neat and they say “mom take a picture of this for your facebook!” Your post reminds me of the saying that goes something like this “I am rocking my babies so the cleaning can wait”

  16. I’ve realized something similar with the ants in our house. Ants mean I wash the dishes promptly, and am more diligent about wiping down the counters and storing things properly. They also mean I’m more conscientious about sweeping and mopping regularly, and making sure the kids keep their food and drinks at the table. So although I’ll be glad when the ants are gone, I’m glad they motivate me too. ๐Ÿ™‚
