{Easy!} Seasoned Oven Fries

Seasoned oven fries are a side dish staple at our house. Along with homemade hash browns, they make good use of the bag upon bag of spuds we go through, and might just be our favorite way to eat potatoes!

*** Lynn says to soak the potato strips first. I’m gonna try that next time!

What’s your favorite way to eat potatoes?

  1. This is one of my favorites too, only I usually use sweet potatoes. I do not enjoy slicing sweet potatoes so I cut them in half length-wise and then use a mandolin. This gives me fairly thin slices so I only bake them for 20 minutes at 425.

    • I so very much wish I liked sweet potato fries. I KNOW they’d be better for me than the white potatoes! I finally can eat a baked sweet potato without gagging, so maybe I should try again? ;)

  2. We love these! We also like to use Lawry’s Seasoning Salt or rosemary. I *love* the smell of roasting rosemary

  3. We do this all the time in the summer. I throw them in an aluminum disposable pan and throw them on the grill. I use seasoning salt, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley!

    • Great idea! I’ve wrapped them in foil on the grill before, but they don’t get nice and crispy. I’ll try the pan next time!

  4. We love oven fries too! If you need them to cook faster, you can cut them thinner (but they’re harder to stir). I like garlic powder, a pinch of red pepper, chili powder, cumin, and salt too. I’ll have to try them with the skins on sometime–that would make prep a lot faster :)
