Just looking through your recipes and found this one...and it reminded me of 1974, my dad, hot dogs and hash browns for dinner. And for a treat on Saturday morning, eggs with fried bologna. I miss those simple times when you just made what was in the fridge!

We call this 'Puppy Dog Stew' -- which most people confuse with something cooked up for the dogs. :-)

We grew up on a very similar meal. Sliced potatoes, fried in oil, then when they where almost done we added sliced polish sausage ( can be added straight out of freezer) The when the sausage was heated we turned it off covered it with sliced singles of cheese covered and let the cheese melt!

Easy meal and to this day if you ask my brother his fav meal this is it!!!

For me and the kids I usually have some kind of veggie!!

What a riot! This actually looks quite good. When we were kids, my mother had to have a hospital stay, so my father cooked us a memorable dinner one night: He took hot dogs, sliced them down the middle, put peanut butter inside them, wrapped them in a slice of cheese, and microwaved them. Memorable, but disgusting!

I don't think it sounds weird at all. We are actually having scrambled eggs with cream of mushroom soup mixed in for dinner tonight. My parents always made it growing up, and now my husband loves it too.
