Degrees Sign


Type up a lot of recipes?  Want to make them look more professional?  Use the degrees sign.  While holding down the “Alt” key, type 0176 and poof, there appears the °!  Works for me!

  29. The ALT codes are fun to use. you can find the ¢ sign, too – just google ALT codes to find more of those lovely hidden treats.

    In cooking that degree sign is just necessary – Excellent tip!

  33. I don’t know what’s wrong…probably my computer…but I’m not getting a cute little degree sign to pop up. See look:
    It’s not there. Sigh. I really, really want a degree sign.

  35. I figured it out! You have to use the numeric keypad on the right side of most keyboards…but since I’m on a laptop I don’t have one. Great tip, thanks!

  37. I had to use the numbers lock key first (FN +11 to lock) on my netbook. It works! °! Now I’ll be able to write about the temperature without using *. Thanks!
