The ALT codes are fun to use. you can find the ¢ sign, too – just google ALT codes to find more of those lovely hidden treats.

I figured it out! You have to use the numeric keypad on the right side of most keyboards…but since I’m on a laptop I don’t have one. Great tip, thanks!

I had to use the numbers lock key first (FN +11 to lock) on my netbook. It works! °! Now I’ll be able to write about the temperature without using *. Thanks!
