Coupons on Ebay

When I first read about someone purchasing coupons on ebay, I thought that sounded like a special kind of crazy. Buy coupons? Why?

Then I tried it myself, and now I have the answer. Here’s why!

Last week I bought 15 Kraft cheese coupons on ebay for $5.67. They were valued at $.75 cents each, and I knew that Dillons doubles up to $1.00, so my net gain was $9.33.

I only bought the coupons because Kraft cheese was part of the Dillons Mega Deal, making an 8 oz. block of cheese $1.50 when you buy 10 mega deal items. That’s a good price, but adding my coupons made made those 8 oz. packages $.88 each!

The only way to beat $.88 would be to find those coupons in a dispenser by the dairy section, free for the taking.  I wasn’t that lucky!

Will I buy coupons on ebay again?  Sure.  But only when…

  • The net value after paying for them is worth it (I wish every 10 minute task around here would net me $9.33).
  • The product is something I like to stock up on (like cheese)!
  • The coupons are matched with a really good sale.

Do you purchase coupons?  For specific items or for everything?  Tell me how that works for you… I’m still learning!

Yep…I’ve purchased coupons on ebay. For organic milk. We use a specific brand of org. milk and it happens to be one of the most expensive. I bought, a few times, 20 $1coupons for maybe $7…it was well worth it! What I want to know, though, is where they get them all??!! I sign up for just about every organic coupon possible and I wasn’t receiving anything like that! Some monopoly, huh??!! But…works for us!

I love that you were able to save some good money this way! What I don’t love is that the reason so many of us “aren’t so lucky” about finding these coupons is that there are people out there emptying the machines to sell them on Ebay. Personally, I don’t care if you take 15 coupons if you’re going to buy 15 packs of cheese… but it upsets me a little that people are profiting from being one of the first to the blinkie machine… seems a tad opportunistic. Just my opinion.

BTW, that picture of the pile of cheese makes me hungry. ;)

  5. I buy coupons on Ebay sometimes. It’s nice to be able to get my hands on coupons that might not have been in my paper, or were in it but for a smaller amount.

I’ve never bought coupons on Ebay before, but now I’m going to have to give it a shot. :D
