Well… what do you think?! (Oh, if you’re a subscriber reading this in your RSS Feed or your Email, you should really click over today.)
Thanks to the hardworking, creative duo over at New Season Design, a few late nights, and a bit of coffee (and maybe a scoop or three of ice cream) I’ve got a new look!
There’s still a lot of work to be done on my end, but I’m ecstatic over the new do, and am hoping that the site will be more streamlined and inviting for all of you. You’ll now find six main categories in the navigation bar right below the header. If you hover over those, you should see sub-categories to find what you’re looking for. Provided, of course, that I get around to rearranging all my posts into the proper categories. Please excuse the 404 errors in the meantime!
It’ll take me a few days to get everything straightened out. Until then, if there’s something you can’t find, feel free to contact me.
Pull up a seat and make yourself comfy. A fresh new look is certainly a Finer Thing!
What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know!

Cool! I love that you have a “pin it” link!! I don’t remember that from before. The only thing I’m missing is the Got Zucchini, Pumpkin, Apple recipes.
I’m thinking about adding a “recipe collections” at the top with a drop down to those three. They definitely need to be there somewhere!
Go look. I got ‘em up!
All three of them are under the Recipes tab at the top now. Will that work? (I want it to be easy for my readers!)
Love the new look! Very clean, modern and sharp looking.
I love it, love it, love it!!!!!!
Thanks for all your brainstorming assistance.
Your new look is fabulous!!!
Thanks so much!
This looks so great! Makes me want a new look
Thanks so much! I know… every time I see a new site design, I think ooooh… I like this and this and that and…
Fall is such a good time for new beginnings! It looks crisp and clean and ready for a new season. Enjoy!
Yes! Love fall.
Yes. Like a whole new year.
Amy, Love.It.
So fresh, clean and modern. Great job
The new look is beautiful
so clean and classy!
Oh, Amy, it’s lovely!
Very snazzy.
Hehe…when I read your tweet, I thought you actually meant you’d gotten a new haircut. And I thought (and considered tweeting), “Ummm, shouldn’t getting a haircut be relaxing, not exhausting?”
*sigh*
ANYWAY. I love your new look!
Uhh, actually, I DID! Got the haircut Tuesday and totally thought about posting it along with the redesign launch. Ha! But then I chickened out, and well… I’m a mom. I haven’t fixed it and had make up on and had an opportunity to photo, and… #excuses.
I think it looks great! Someday I need to break down and get professional help for my site. I keep tinkering with it, but never seem to get it the way I want it. I am sure you will love your “new” site.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would blow up my blog if I “tinkered” with anything “back there.” Ha!
LOL! Thankfully, I haven’t blown anything up yet.
Very chic!!!! Great job.
I love the new look! Very streamlined and everything seems really easy to find. Great job!
I love it, Amy. I do have one suggestion. I know that with your other layout, you could see which posts were older and newer on the footer of a blog post. Does that make sense? I liked how if I was on this finer things post that you had a link on the bottom that said “previous post –>” and then I could click it and see the post before. I don’t see it anymore. Hope I’m making sense, LOL
!
Working on that right now. Help me out.
Are you talking about having a “previous posts” and “newer posts” link on a single post? I see it now when I scroll past several posts and get to the bottom “older posts” “newer posts” but maybe you’re talking about something different?
Yeah, I meant having it on the bottom of every single post and not just on the main page.
Ok. I’ll ask about that. We’ll work on it. Thanks for your help!
Your new look is great! I love the beautiful simplicity.
Your new blog design looks great Amy! I know your still working hard on tweaking things and probably aren’t done with that yet, but I have a suggestion. When you click on a topic/category it is easier for me to see a list of post titles, kind of similar to your previous blog design. That way you don’t have to scroll through tons of full posts to find the one you want. Does that make sense? I don’t mean to criticize because I love your blog and it looks great but that would make reading easier for me
Yes! That is most definitely in the works. (Drives me nuts to have to scroll through a bunch…) I just haven’t figured out how to do that yet.
Fun site design. I can’t wait to earn some money from my blog so I can get mine designed too! I have learned over the past few months I am a writer, not a designer!
Love the blog!
Oh, mercy. Me, too! Except sometimes I wonder if I’m even a writer! LOL
Love it!!! Beautiful. Wanted to echo though, I will really miss got pumpkin, got zucchini this fall! Can’t tell you how many of those recipes I try when I have extra.
No worries! I got all three of them up. If you hover over the “recipes” page at the top right, you’ll see them.
(They’re my favorite, too!)
I’m curious about one thing–why a “G” on your tab? You know, the quarter-inch-square icon that also shows up when I type in your address? (On Blogger blogs it’s an orange “B”.) It used to be a mini target or a dot with rings around it.
I’m very bothered because I can’t figure out what the “G” would stand for.
{I’m behind.} That should be fixed now. Do you see two basic rectangles? It was a G for a bit because the “theme” I’m using is Genesis. We had a HARD time coming up with something for the favicon!
