Blessing families with food is one easy way for me to practice Christian Stewardship. I love to cook and bake, and I love to share food with others. (Just please don’t ask me to clean your house… I’m having a hard enough time keeping up with my own!)
Over at Life as MOM, Fishmama is hosting a recipe swap for a Dish that You Deliver. A meal that I enjoy sharing with others is breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls or sweet bread (banana, zucchini, poppy seed). I’ll add fresh fruit if I have it on hand. I like to deliver this meal because it is unique and it can be served any time of the day.
Here is my breakfast casserole recipe.
- 6-7 slices of bread, crustless and cubed
- 1 lb. chopped ham (or sausage, browned and drained)
- 1 c. grated cheddar cheese
- 6 beaten eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter
Mix all ingredients except butter, and pour in 9×12 pan. Melt butter and pour over the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours). Bake uncovered at 325 for 1 hour. (I sometimes need to bake it longer to get a browner top.)
