Beautiful, Wonderful You {Finer Things Friday}

Dear Reader,

You are beautiful.

Yes, you in the sweatpants that haven’t been washed since Tuesday.  You with the spit-up matted in your pony tail.  You in the business suit, feet throbbing.  You who got up too early because you stayed up too late soaking in the silence.  You who stayed out too late because the silence at home is deafening.

You are beautiful.

Yes, you carrying the burden of aging parents and active teens.  You whose dream is just a whole lotta work right now.  You who cried yourself to sleep last night.  You with flour dusting your apron.  You counting the change, willing it into fishes and loaves.

You are beautiful.

You staring at the computer screen, baffled and troubled and weepy with recent news.  You embracing your children after a day at school.  You who teach them 24/7.   You sitting nervous in a college classroom, starting life anew.  You brave enough to face tomorrow without a loved one.

You are beautiful.

You, who, no matter the strategy, can’t get the baby to sleep more than two hours at a time.  You tackling your dreams with mechanical fervor.  You who dreams of an accomplished to-do list; just one.  You who wore your makeup to bed last night.  You with the mismatched socks.

You are beautiful.

You with the chapped lips and cracked knuckles.  You sporting fashionable wedges.  You squinting to see.  You with the radiant smile.  And you whose pasted lips upturned reveal a broken heart.

You are beautiful.

 ...I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Psalm 139:14

    I saw this yesterday when you shared it on Facebook. I then went on to share it also. It was just what I needed yesterday as I am often way too hard on myself. It brought tears to my eyes!
