This was my view the other night.

Lance’s cousin posted “bring buckets and get these apricots before we have to rake them all up” on Facebook, so the kids and I stopped by before a game.

In the midst of an insanely busy week, free fruit in our crisper has been a fun blessing!
As for the rest of the week, Vacation Bible School got us out the door by 8:40 every morning, and ballgames got us in the door after 10:00 every night. Oy! The silver lining on that schedule would be the 4 hour naps my little guy enjoyed all week long. I’ll take it!
It’s the simple pleasures of summer that we’re celebrating around here. What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know!
Have any “must make” apricot recipes for me? (I’ve got apricot crisp, muffins, freezer jam, and more on my list… I need to go picking again!)

Yum! It has been so long since I had a fresh apricot right of the tree! I have also never seen a tree so loaded with apricots as that one! Enjoy! and yes definitely apricot jam!
I have never had a fresh apricot!
I love dried apricots and was just saying last week how I would love to have some freash ones!
First of all: you look adorable.
Second: Yay for free fruit! My daughter LOVES apricots. She would be in heaven!
a
Oh my goodness! Those apricots look amazing!
My Finer Things Friday…
Heading to the beach for a sand soccer tournament! Even better, leaving my crazy 7th graders with a sub! Enjoy the apricots.
Sand soccer… I can’t even imagine. I find WALKING in the sand to be strenuous. Ha!
I got some off the same tree Amy. I put mine in the freezer whole to make into jelly when I have more time
I finally got through all of them just today. Sliced, sugared and bagged for the freezer. And now I want more! (I’m afraid “more time” isn’t in my near future, though. LOL)
It doesn’t get any better than free, local produce!
The peaches are lovely, but I couldn’t help admiring the fruit growing in your belly. You and your bump look so great!
Thanks.
So far, so good!
I meant apricots. Sorry for the misprint!
Thank you for hosting this link-up
. I love your picture of the apricots! They look delicious!
You just look so stinking cute. I’m a little bit behind you, but I don’t look pregnant at all…I just look like I’m gaining weight. LOL
Thanks for hosting! I’ve linked up a post about Geocaching, which is a GREAT family activity for the summer and beyond!
Linked up! Thanks for hosting!
Loving that baby bump, my friend!
I want some of those apricots! I haven’t had an apricot pie in forever!!!
If she still has some, we can go pick before a game next week…
Thank you for hosting:)
Please come get more and please share all those recipes so I know what to do with the ones I’ve stashed in my fridge!
I worked up the last of them today and froze ‘em for later. Do you still have some? (After tonight’s wind/storm, they may all end up on your ground!) We’d come get some before a ballgame next week if they’re still there! (Posting glazed doughnut muffins next week. Made them with the apricots. Oh, my! Lance said “these are like candy.”)
You look great! I actually don’t know that I have ever had a fresh apricot — I would totally dehydrate a bunch of them, because I love dried apricots! I linked up a post on the status of my garden – that is the finer thing in my life right now!
Thank you.
And… you’re missing out!
Can you dry them in the oven and have them come out like the dried apricots you buy in the store? I’m curious! Well, I had to Google it first, yes. Here you go: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/how-to-make-dried-fruit/#axzz1xh5Owiw9. Very interesting!
I’m gonna have to pick more to do that… mine are all gone now!
What a great looking tree! Can you please tell me what you do to your tree to get so many apricots? I have a 4 year old tree that put out Maybe 15 to 20 apricots. If youv’e got any idea what I can do to make my tree so productive, I’d sure appreciate it. Raylene.
It’s not my tree, so I have no idea, but I have heard that it takes fruit trees several years to really get going. Maybe next year is your year?!
