Week 3 of the 30-Day Giving Challenge has come and gone, and I have to admit once again that I feel completely out-given. On Monday I received birthday cards in the mail from two of my blogging friends. Getting real mail from friends I know only online is an amazing gift.
On Wednesday, we were given the most incredible team of child specialists for our daughter’s outpatient surgery. The pediatric sedation doctor, the plastic surgeon, the child life specialist… everything was comfortable and thoroughly explained and went incredibly smooth. Thank you for your prayers!
That day was a long one (we received a call at 4:00 in the morning that my husband’s grandma passed away, and our alarm went off at 4:30 so we could be out the door to the hospital by 5:30), and when we got home my spirits were lifted by the UPS lady and my friend Kate. Kate sent me a gift box of Penzey’s spices for my birthday! I am so completely unworthy of fancy spices, but you can bet I’ll have fun experimenting.
Here’s how I gave this week.
Day 15: Set aside time to stumble and tweet extra blog posts. For my readers who aren’t bloggers, this will be meaningless, but I can assure you that a stumbled post is something every blogger wants.
Day 16: Donated and downloaded a copy of this e-book.
Day 17: Sent a care package to a childhood friend who is currently serving overseas. I think this was my favorite give of the week. I can’t even think of the sacrifices our soldiers make without tearing up. It feels good to give a soldier an encouraging word and a little piece of home.
Day 18: Made taco soup and cinnamon rolls for a neighbor who had minor surgery.
Day 19: Planted a tree with some Swagbucks, and didn’t even break a sweat! If you’re not using Swagbucks for your internet searches, you are missing out on free money and giving opportunities. Sign up today!
Day 20: I almost feel guilty counting this as a give, because I was so blessed by the experience. God put me in the right place at the exact right time to comfort a friend. A hug, a listening ear, and a few encouraging words; that’s all she needed, and I’m glad I was the one to give it to her.
Day 21: Donated to a Senior Center in memory of my husband’s grandma.
Have you encountered any exciting giving opportunities recently?

I finally set aside a day last week to do some bulk cooking and hoped to put at least 5 casseroles in the freezer, but I had the opportunity to bless two other families that day. It was a win, win. I still have 3 casseroles in the freezer, we ate well, and so did 2 other families.
Feeding others is my FAVORITE way to give. Good for you!
What a blessing!
You definitely are finding some wonderful ways to give.
